Edward’s Hideout

The idea for the old mansion Jim and Erica discover as their father’s hideout in Paraglide is based on an actual abandoned house deep in the heart of Tuscany in the central part of Italy.  We stumbled upon it while on vacation and spent hours exploring the collapsing structure and numerous outbuildings. Apart from a couple of rusty bedframes, there was no furniture left in the main house, but the outbuildings were full of old tools, empty wine bottles and equipment for making olive oil. But no cans of spam!

We asked the locals who used to live there and why they left, but they only gave vague answers. Something about an old lady in Florence. No one would say any more. Very mysterious.

More photos of the house–Imagine taking a bath in that tub!
